Getting Started
How do I create my first beat-synced video?
Tap AutoShort on the home tab, pick a song from your library, choose a Rhythm/Flow template, select your video clips, and tap Generate. BeatShort will analyze the beat and sync your clips automatically in under 10 seconds.
Do I need an account to use BeatShort?
No account is required. BeatShort works completely offline and locally on your device. Just download and start creating.
What iOS version do I need?
BeatShort requires iOS 16.0 or later. It runs on all iPhone and iPad models that support iOS 16+.
Does BeatShort work without an internet connection?
Yes. All beat analysis, video editing, and export happens fully on-device with no internet required. An internet connection is only needed to watch ads (free tier) or to use AI features with your own API key.
Beat Templates & AutoShort
What is a Rhythm/Flow template?
A Rhythm/Flow template is a pre-designed beat structure that maps clip roles (Intro, Build, Climax, etc.) to specific positions in a song. Templates are crafted by genre — EDM, Hip-Hop, Chill, Pop, Afrobeat, and more.
How many templates are included in the free tier?
The free tier includes 10 beat templates across multiple genres. Pro unlocks all 36 templates plus the ability to create custom templates from any song.
What is AutoGen?
AutoGen is an AI-powered feature that automatically picks the best clips from your library for each slot in a template based on visual quality, motion, and scene energy. Free users get 3 AutoGen runs per day; Pro users get unlimited.
Can I use my own songs?
Yes. Import any audio from your Music Library, or use the built-in music browser. Any audio file works — BeatShort detects the BPM and beat structure automatically.
Export & Sharing
What export resolution is supported?
Free users can export at 1080×1920 (1080p for TikTok/Reels/Shorts). Pro users can export at 4K (2160×3840).
How do I share to TikTok or Instagram?
After export, the video is saved to your Camera Roll. Open TikTok or Instagram and select it from your gallery. BeatShort exports in the standard 9:16 vertical format perfect for all short-form platforms.
Why does export take a while on some devices?
Export time depends on video length, number of clips, and device performance. Devices with an A15 chip or newer are significantly faster. Ensure your device is not in Low Power Mode for best performance.
Pro Subscription
How do I subscribe to Pro?
Go to Settings → Upgrade to Pro inside the app, or tap any Pro-gated feature. The Pro plan is $4.99/month with a free trial where available.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Open iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → BeatShort → Cancel Subscription. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Go to Settings → Restore Purchases inside the app. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Refund requests must be submitted through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Pixeliro does not have the ability to issue direct refunds.
Privacy & Data
Does BeatShort upload my videos or photos?
No. Your photos, videos, and audio files never leave your device. All processing is 100% on-device using Apple's AVFoundation, Core ML, Vision, and Metal frameworks.
What is the AI key for?
Optional AI features (like AI-assisted template suggestions) use your own OpenAI API key. You enter it in Settings. It is stored locally in your device's Keychain and sent directly to OpenAI — Pixeliro never sees it.
How are ads served on the free tier?
We use Google AdMob for rewarded interstitial ads. If you allow App Tracking Transparency, ads may be personalized. You can opt out in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Pro subscribers never see ads.
Troubleshooting
The app crashes when I try to export. What should I do?
This is usually a memory issue on older devices. Try: (1) Close other apps, (2) Restart your device, (3) Use fewer clips or shorter videos, (4) Disable Low Power Mode. If the issue persists, email us with your device model and iOS version.
Beat detection seems off — the cuts don't match the music.
Try re-analyzing the audio: open the song picker, remove the track, and re-import it. Also make sure the audio file is not a variable-BPM track (some live recordings or mashups can confuse beat detection). For complex tracks, try adjusting the template sensitivity in settings.
My videos look blurry or low quality in the export.
Check Settings → Export Quality. Make sure it is set to High (or 4K for Pro). Also verify the source video resolution — BeatShort cannot upscale source footage.
I can't access my Music Library / Photos.
Go to iOS Settings → BeatShort → Privacy and make sure Photos (Full Access) and Media & Apple Music are both enabled. Then restart the app.
